Database populated!

There we go, first draft of the database for this site is populated with my collection of links that I have collected over several years. It’s of course far from finished, I expect to perform deep search through it once again, remove not working ones, add few new and so on.

Forum is going to follow this project shortly in order to have platform for discussion, suggestions and hopefuly in some near future actual reviews and recomendations for “best of”software within each categories.

It’s also somewhere in the plan to make some nice, eye candy buttons for “Editor’s Choice” and “Member’s Choice” for some programs as well. But time will show if that is going to to be done and how.

Enjoy and Get Freeware!

Get Freeware is open…

Hey there,

My name is Ivan, and I am going to be your host and admin (for the start, I hope some of the visitors will prove their worth and become part of the team) on Getfreeware.org

What’s the idea? There are too many sites covering this issue. Well I cannot say anything against that except that I’m personally sick & tired of many hours spent on the Internet trying to find out what free programs to use for things I need. What Google brought though easiness of search and accessibility of links, their engines are still computer driven programs searching out web for everything, listing everything they find and eventually that’s brought back to us, simple users.

What we need? We need programs, we want free programs, but in the wide sea of them we cannot know which ones to use, which ones fit us the best because in most cases we have almost no one to recommend them to us. This small web site is going to be that missing link, the one place which wont take you further than few clicks away for your download. As simple as it can be…
